Solidarity Economics—for the Coronavirus Crisis and Beyond

Scale with wealth and cash money on a plate and people, world, environment on the other; balancing business profits and human rights

In the long term, not just in the current emergency, mutuality matters—not only morally but economically, too. An ethos of mutual caring and support not only leads to better health outcomes, but also helps to generate a more vibrant and resilient society.

Published in The American Prospect, Dr. Chris Benner, Director of the Institute for Social Transformation, and Manuel Pastor, professor of sociology at the University of Southern California, as they explore the effects of this global pandemic.
